The Ice Age with ‘Orsa’ – the Neanderthal
A broad nose, receding forehead, prominent brow ridges – typical of a Neanderthal! In ‘Orsa's World’, the Neanderthal Orsa guides you through his everyday life in a multimedia projection.
Traces of Neanderthals have also been found in Switzerland: in 1955, a 50,000-year-old incisor was discovered in a cave in the Jura mountains – proof that Neanderthals also lived in Switzerland.
Together with Orsa, you will learn how they lived and how closely related they are to us. Every fossil find provides new insights and prompts researchers to take a fresh look at our origins.
Neanderthals were accompanied by a fascinating animal world: mammoths, woolly rhinoceroses and cave bears populated the landscape at that time. An impressive mammoth skeleton awaits you right at the entrance to the ice-age show – discover which animals survived the last ice age.
