Zoological collections

The scientific zoological collections consist of around 900 mammal species, 3,300 bird species, 1,000 reptile and amphibian species, 3,000 insect species and 24,000 mollusc species.

The most important parts of the zoological collection include the fruit fly collection (drosophilid list of pinned specimens) and the mosson collection within the mollusc collection (list of type specimens) with numerous type specimens.
